South Al-Mutlaa City is expected to be completed in 2019
Kuwaits Public Authority for Housing Welfare is inviting companies to bid by 8 December for a contract to build roads and infrastructure networks for the residential plots and electrical substations for the northern section of South Al-Mutlaa City.
International companies prequalified to bid for the contract include:

- Cooperativa Muratori and Cementisti CMC Ravenna (Italy)
- Daewoo Engineering & Construction (South Korea)
- El-Seif Engineering Contracting Company (Saudi Arabia)
- Ghantoot Transport and General Contracting (UAE)
- Hanwha Engineering & Construction Corporation (South Korea)
- Itinera SPA (Italy)
- Larsen & Toubro (India)
- Polat Yol Yapi Sanayi ve Ticaret (Turkey)

These companies are expected to present a proof of the existence of a local agent or partner when they submit their offers.
South Al-Mutlaa City will be located in Kuwaits Jahra governorate, to the west of the capital Kuwait City.
Once completed in 2019, the development will have 30,000 housing units, with its population projected to reach 400,000. This would comprise about 9 per cent of the states projected population of nearly 4.6 million by 2019, based on the Washington-based IMFs population forecast data.
